Do you think your garage needs a little sprucing up? Are you considering changing its floor to make it look more attractive? Do you know that you have lots of options when it comes to that matter? This extra room in the house has many uses. People use it as a storage area, as a place to park the car in, or simply for keeping things around the house that are no longer being used. Some people transform their garages into a workshop or even a game room. It becomes the place where you can do your crafts or play a good round of billiards with a group of friends. When it comes to flooring ideas, you have three major options - the epoxy paint, decorative concrete flooring, and floor mats.

A garage being used as a workshop is better off using epoxy paints for its floor. Paint is a very durable surface cover and is easy to clean as well. It doesn’t get stained by oils and greases that easily. It definitely looks more attractive than regular concrete flooring. It is also easy to apply because all you really have to do is to paint the floor with it. However, you have to do some general cleaning first prior to applying the paint. You don’t want any foreign objects being trapped in the paint as you apply it. However, this type of a flooring idea can be a little slippery, especially for children running around. So you should give it some thought to determine if it is the right type of flooring for your needs.

If you think that applying epoxy paint is a big job, use floor mats instead. They work as superb as epoxy paints because most of them can withstand oil stains too. Just roll out these mats on the surface and you’re done. There’s no drying time required. You don’t even need to clean as much as you have to if you choose to use epoxy paint. Floor mats are available in different sizes, shapes, and designs. Choose the one that goes well with the theme of your garage or home.

Decorative concrete flooring is your third option when it comes to flooring ideas for your garage. Like the mats, this one comes in many designs too. Tiles, parquet, and hardwood belong to this category. This type of floor idea is also the hardest to apply and the most expensive. Some may not prove to be too durable for your application so you have to choose carefully.
