The sight of an old gray slab truly is not such a good thing to see, that’s why it’s no wonder if an establishment or house owner would want to redesign his flooring to make it look better. You can actually instantly do this by simply painting over your polished concrete floor.
The same with concrete acid staining, painting your floor can improve the looks of it. However, unlike the acid staining that is so hard to control, painting concrete polished floor is easier to manipulate. Therefore, the end results would definitely be exactly the way you would want it.
Before laying on the paint and creating the patterns that you want for your polished concrete floor, you will have to thoroughly clean it. Remove at most every particle on the floor, especially the ones that could affect the application of the paint later. A pressure washer can definitely be a real time saver on this type of task.
When you have made sure that you have removed every bit of flakes, dirt or chipping old paints from the concrete polished floor, let it dry completely. While in that process, you can also try filling in the present cracks or holes to make it smooth and clean necessary for great painting outputs.
It should be remembered that the floor should already be completely dry before you decide to paint over it. Leaks should never be present to avoid messy and unwanted troubles later on. To assure yourself that the floor is truly dry, place a plastic over it and leave it like that overnight, as a continuity to the drying process.
After having the plastic overnight, the next thing to consider is to check out condensation formations on the plastic. If you see some forms of liquid on the plastic, that means there are leaks present on the floor. Use a quality sealant to solve this problem.
After the primer had dried up, you can now go ahead with painting the floor with the pattern and design that you intended for it. If you are unsure of what to do, it is always best to ask an expert about these kinds of situation. Include in your inquiry the type of paint to use to ensure the best quality and results that you for sure want for your concrete polished floor.
