When it comes to search engine optimization or commonly known as SEO, most optimizers will optimize a set of keywords that is closely related to a website’s core business. However with the right SEO technique and planning, it is definitely possible for you to increase the number of keywords and diversify your business.

Getting more keywords to rank well organically is very important for a business. Results have shown that searchers tend to click on the organic listings more than the paid listings located on the right hand side of the result page. Therefore, by getting more keywords to rank well on the organic listing, you will be able to generate more clicks that you ever thought imaginable.

To expand your keywords through SEO, you need to do the followings:

1. Have a unique title for each of your web pages. For each web page that you are optimizing, give the page a unique Title from the other web pages. Before you change the titles of your pages, do make sure that you plan out different sets of title for each page. Place the most important keywords that you are intending to optimize at the front and make sure that the title is related to the content of that particular page.

2. Developing smart pages. Create a page that consists of content that is related to the keywords that you are going to optimize. For the naming convention of the page, do include keyword in it. For example, if you are creating a page that talk only about search engine optimization and search engine optimization is your keyword, you should name your page as search-engine-optimization.html. Continue to build more keyword-optimized smart pages, each targeting a different set of keywords.

3. Insite cross linking. By linking up all your pages within your website, it will help you to get all your pages to be indexed by search engine which is essential if you want to optimize many keywords. All the other web pages of your website should be no more than three clicks away from your home page.

4. Submit your sitemap page to search engines for indexing. Sitemap page consists of all the URLs that link to the other pages of your website. By submitting your sitemap page to search engines, you will be able to get all your pages indexed and increase the chance of getting more keywords to rank organically well.

With more keywords ranking well in search engines, it can only mean that there will be more targeted traffic visiting your website, which may result in potential sales directly online or offline.
