The biggest difference that you’ll notice when playing the game and learning to play the real thing is the discipline that you will need to develop as you learn the guitar. It is important to memorize the basic chords and their chord families. Many professional musicians make a good living knowing just basic guitar chords. Get intimately acquainted with the fret board and where the notes are
Realize that all beginner guitar players develop blisters on the tips of their fingers. There is no way around this but many would-be guitarist quit because of the temporary pain. Don’t let that be you. In time your fingers will develop calluses (guitar fingers) and the pain will never be an issue ever again.
