Article marketing has been around since the beginning of internet marketing and is still used today as a good way to drive traffic and help your SEO efforts. It is however a long term strategy that requires more effort than many want to give, and this has caused many marketers to turn to other forms of marketing, but it should not be ignored.
The fact that it can take awhile to see results causes people to shy away from article marketing as an effective marketing source. We have become a society of “I Want It Now” mentality, but it is those that make the investments early on, that allow them take it easy later.
Article marketing has the ability to give you almost instant credibility in the eyes of the readers. This credibility translates to much more qualified traffic to your site that wants to listen to what you have to say and/or buy your products. No other form of marketing can give you that in such a short amount of time.
The long term SEO (Search Engine Optimization) benefits come from the links in you authors resource box. Not only do they provide you with traffic, they also build you credibility with the search engines. If you choose your anchor text wisely and have a basic SEO plan set up for your web site, over time you will gain better rankings in the SERP and get more traffic as a result.
The key is to write really good quality articles that answer peoples questions and then submit unique forms of them to as many places as possible to get maximum coverage. This will help drive more traffic faster than single submissions and boost rankings faster through the increased number of links.
Success for article marketing will not come over night, but its effects over the long term are definitely worth the time and effort. If you have never written an article before then now is the time to start. As time goes on you will find that it becomes easier and even fun to share information and know that eventually you will profit from it.
