Knowing for sure that an online home business is not a scam is hard to do. But there are indicators to help you identify an online scam and to protect yourself from fraud.

One of the ways to know if you are dealing with a scam, is if there is no contact information whatsoever. If you are just asked for your money through Paypal or Alert Pay, and there is no phone number or even e-mail, you may be asking for trouble.

Another sign of an online scam is when you are told that your system is totally automated, and that you have to to absolutely nothing to make money. This is bogus, and there is no such thing as making money by doing nothing.

If you are not given any product at all and just a replicated website, this is definitely a money game. The only people who make money in this are the people who start these programs or have a huge mailing list. Even if it is only $5, save your money for something better. You will just be throwing it out.

A business that promises to help you get rick quick, say within the same day or the same week, smells of scam even from a mile away. You can easily spot these types as they usually have dollar bills flashing all over their website.

Another sign of an internet scam is one that is actually a small pyramid scheme that doesn’t work. You’ve got to trust me on this one because even if I am embarrassed to say, I got involved in something like this once. It promises you huge leverage of a small amount of money, say for example, leveraging $45 into $50,000. Speaking from experience, it just doesn’t work.

A good online home business should have a professionally done and great-looking website. So, stay away from those that have poorly made websites because most likely, this is a scam. If a business cannot afford to pay for a decent looking website, them this is most likely run by scam artists who are probably in the most need of YOUR money! Stay away from these cheap sites.

There are other ways of determining whether the company you’re dealing with is a legitimate business opportunity or a business scam. But nowadays, there are more scams out there than legitimate ones so buyer…be aware!
