However you can adjust the gun’s velocity by adjusting the air flow or spring tension. The reason for the electronics in the gun is that it affects the firing modes. You will generally need to have batteries in this gun and 12v is normal.

If you choose a fully electronic paintball gun then you will find that the electric trigger is what fires the marker. You really need to be careful about the air pressure in your marker because problems happen when the air pressure is too high. If you have one of these guns then they will use 12v batteries but the velocity used is a lot more reliable than the sear trippers.

It’s very difficult to say which type is better because they all have their own advantages and disadvantages. If you are new to paintball then choosing a mechanical marker is generally advised. Some people make the mistake of spending hundreds of dollars on a paintball gun they don’t understand and is way above their level of expertise.
