Chelsea Walls: Impressionistic ode to N.Y.C.’s fabled Chelsea Hotel and the ghosts of tormented creative souls like Bob Dylan who influenced the present inhabitants, from a recently found Midwestern folksinger to a booze-ridden novelist who couldn’t get his act together. Cast includes Kevin Corrigan, Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Robert Sean Leonard, Kris Kristofferson, Natasha Richardson, Little Jimmy Scott, John Seitz, Uma Thurman, Mark Weber, Tuesday Weid, Steve Zahn, and Christopher Walken. Jack Frost: A neglectful dad dies in an automobile mishap and comes to life one year later as a snowman in his child’s front yard! Nice, likable acting and an absence of violence make this an alright family film. However, it on no account conquers its quintessential issue, an extremely weird premise. Cast includes Michael Keaton, Kelly Preston, Mark Addy, Joseph Cross, Henry Rollins, and Dweezil Zappa. (95 minutes, 1998)
The Good Humor Man: Wide dry comedy in reference to ice cream dealer Cars On, who runs into a crime syndacate. Cast includes Jack Carson, Lola Albright, Jean Wallace, George Reeves, and Richard Egan. (79 minutes, 1950)
Repo Man: Immediate cult-film in regards to a new wave delinquent who takes a job recouping automobiles. Mixes satire and science fiction with involving outcomes, albeit a little of this film goes a long way. Stanton is perfect as a repo guy who shows Estevez the business. Cast includes Emilio Estevez, Harry Dean Stanton, Vonetta McGee, Olivia Barash, Sy Richardson, Tracey Walter, Susan Bames, and Fox Harris. (92 minutes, 1984)
A Guy Namend Joe: Excellent cast flounders in lazy fantasy in reference to WW2 guide Tracy returning to the planet to give youthful serviceman Johnson a hand in his romance with Tracy’s lady friend Dunne. Cast includes Spencer Tracy, Irene Dunne, Van Johnson, Ward Bond, James Gleason, Lionel Barrymore, Barry Nelson, Esther Williams, and Don DeFore. (120 minutes, 1943)
Down Periscope: Maverick naval officer is ultimately given the submarine he requests however it turns out to be a mothballed ruin with a crew that’s not much more superior. If he could demonstrate his mettle (and the vessels) in a battle game scenario, he might graduate to a first rate atomic sub. Gentle comedy follows the black sheep makegood recipe somewhat well. Cast includes Kelsey Grammer, Lauren Holly, Bruce Dem, Thieve Schneider, Rip Torn, Harry Dean Stanton, William H. Macy, Ken Hudson Campbell, Toby Huss, Duane Martin, and Harland Williams. (92 minutes, 1996)
Mr. Ricco: Martin in eccentric role as a lawbreaking lawyer engaged with racist killings, sex and various brutalities, although looks too exhausted to care. The film has an excellent puzzling angle to the plot. Cast includes Dean Martin, Eugene Rocbe, Thalmus Rasulala, Geraldine Brooks, Denise Nicholas, Cindy Williams, and Philip Michael Thomas. (98 minutes, 1975)
Ironweed: William Kennedy adjusted his Pulitzer Treasure-triumphing novel in reference to road individuals, set in Albany, N.Y., 1938. Nicholson plays a guy trying to come to terms with the life he turned his back on years ago. Streep is his longtime friend who, like him, can’t stay off the bottle for long. Cast includes Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep, Carroll Baker, Michael O’Keefe, Diane Venora, Fred Gwynne, Margaret Whitton, Tom Delays, Jake Dengel, Nathan’ Aisle, James Gammon, Joe Grifasi, Bethel Leslie, Ted Levine, and Frank Whaley. (144 minutes, 1987)
Only Two Pan Play: Well-intentioned filming of the Kingsley Amis novel That Undecided Sensation (adjusted by Bryan Forbes), yearning for fast giggles instead of satire. Peter Vendors is a librarian flirting with a local counleman’s wife. Will they take things to far? Cast includes Peter Vendors, Mai Zetterling, Virginia Maskell, Richard Attenborough, and Kenneth Griffith. (106 minutes, 1962)
